This smartphone is the mother and father of them all with 12GB of RAM and 2 Snapdragan 830 SoCs

Meet Turing’s Cadenza, there is no smartphone on earth like it.



Imagine a smartphone with two Snapdragon 830 SoCs, 12GB of RAM, 12MP front cameras, and 60MP rear cameras. Yes! These are the specs of the forthcoming smartphone from the house of Turing which is popular for its hack proof smartphones.

While other manufacturers are trying to push the RAM boundaries to 6GB, Turing Cadenza will have exactly double that at 12GB of RAM.

Turing has been famous for its completely secure products and pushing the envelope further, Turing Robotics Industries (TRI) has announced its intention to release a smartphone with literally insane specs.

Turing’s new super smartphone will be released in 2017 and called the Turing Phone Cadenza. Cadenza has previously unheard and unbelievable specs. Imagine a smartphone in your hand with two Snapdragon 830 SoCs, 12GB of RAM, 12MP front cameras, and 60MP (yes, it is 60!) rear cameras.

And folks that’s not all. Turing’s smartphone’s rear camera is not something ordinary but an iMAX 6K Quad Rear Camera with Triplet Lens/T1.2. If the Cadenza becomes a reality and I am pretty sure it will, it will the first smartphone to capture 60MP photos and 6K videos. The matter of storage comes to.

Wait, Turing is not done yet! With such heavy specs, there is a small matter of internal storage. If it was a normal smartphone, 128-256GB would have done the job but Cadenza being a Turing masterpiece will have 1TB of internal storage. Not that 1TB is less but Cadenza will also give you opportunity to add additional memory via two microSD card slots for that extra bit.



Turing is planning to do to smartphones what Jio has done to mobile telephony in India! Revolutionize it by disrupting it.

For connectivity, Turing’s Cadenza will have NanoSIM slots as well as WiGig.

To power this super smartphone, Turing Phone Cadenza will derive whopping 100wh of power from three sources: a 2,400mAh graphene superconductor battery, a 1,600mAh lithium ion battery, and a hydrogen fuel cell.

And as you may have guessed by now, Android and iOS can’t power this super giant of a smartphone. So Turing is relying on Swordfish OS, which is capable of deep learning, running a neural network, using differential privacy and natural language processing.

The reason why Turing intends to take the smartphone market to the next level is Outer Blueprint program, which aims to improve mobile communication with the use of artificial intelligence. The company calls the Turing Phone Cadenza a “perfectly designed device.”

The iPhone 7S may ditch the iconic home button

With seemingly few mysteries left surrounding the iPhone 7 attention is already turning to the iPhone 7S, and one big change we might see in next year's phone is the removal of the home button.



This is a rumor we've heard before, but now Bloomberg is making the same claims, citing "a person familiar with the matter."

The site doesn't go into any more detail, other than to say that the changes to the phone are designed with a focus on the display in mind, with possibly ultrasonic frequency used to identify the finger.

This adds up with earlier rumors, which suggested that a future iPhone would have a fingerprint scanner built into the screen, allowing the display to be bigger, with less bezel above and below it.

It sounds like an ambitious change, but with the iPhone 7 likely to be a fairly modest upgrade we're expecting big things from the iPhone 7S, especially as it will mark the iPhone's tenth anniversary.

One step at a time and the removal of the home button might not be a sudden change, as there have also been rumors that Apple will redesign the button for the iPhone 7, making the button pressure-sensitive rather than having it physically click.

That's one of the things we're less sure we're going to see on the iPhone 7, as it's not been as heavily rumored as other changes, like the removal of the headphone jack, but it would make sense as a step towards the total removal of the button.

We'll know soon, as the iPhone 7 is expected to launch on September 7. The iPhone 7S is likely still over a year away, so we'll have a much longer wait to find out whether Apple is getting rid of the home button entirely, but one way or another the iPhone 7S is likely to be a big change, with a massive curved screen and a glass back also rumored.

Google will soon rank some mobile sites with pop-ups lower in search

Google will soon rank sites with clumsy interstitials ads lower than those which are more responsible, the company announced today.



The change will affect mobile sites, and only those which have ads that take up an entire screen or otherwise block content wholly. Ads that try to trick you into thinking it’s part of the content (like leaving the article header in place with ads below it) are also being pinged.

Some full-screen interstitials won’t be affected. Easily dismissed banners, age verification and login boxes are okay by Google’s standards.

Google is also dropping the ‘mobile-friendly’ label from search results. It found that roughly 85 percent of webpages meet the criteria for mobile, so it’s dropping the search tag entirely.

LeEco Le 2s will have 8GB RAM, Snapdragon 821, rumors say

Back in June, there were rumors of Chinese giant LeEco working a massive new flagship smartphone, which would be the successor to its budget smartphone Le 2. The Chinese smartphone maker LeEco had released its Le 2 Android smartphone back in April.


 If a new rumor and the leaked images are to be believed, the new device is called Le 2s and will come with 8GB RAM on-board and powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 821 processor. If true, the device will be the first ever smartphone in the world to have that RAM size, according to GSMArena. The handset is also speculated to feature 64GB of on-board storage and a 5.5-inch QHD display. Similar to the Le 2-series, the Le 2s is also expected drop support for 3.5mm audio port, and come with USB Type-C port with CDLA technology instead. However, it is not yet clear that LeEco will offer a microSD card slot or not.


While other details about the smartphone are scarce at the moment, it is likely that the company is expected to launch the Le 2s in China in the first week of September 2016.

Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat is finally rolling out and the Nexus 5 is not getting it

Yes, as previously reported, the next milestone update for Google’s mobile operating system, Android 7.0 Nougat has finally begun to roll out today. The update that varies in size, is rolling out to supported Android devices as an over-the-air (OTA) update. As with all Google software, it is rolling out in batches, so your Nexus device may not get it right away.



Supported Devices

Talking about supported devices, the new update this time excludes two older devices from Google’s Nexus line up, the Nexus 5 and the 2013 Nexus 7. Owners need not be disappointed though, as Google has plans to support those two devices by means of security patches, although it isn’t clear as for how long the company will support the same.

As for the devices that are receiving the new update, Android 7.0 will be arriving on your Nexus 6, 9, 5X, 6P, the Pixel C tablet and the Nexus Player. Google said in a statement that the OTA update may take “several weeks” to roll out, so as we mentioned earlier, it will take some time till your Nexus smartphone receives the update notification. Post Android 7.0 update Google has also quarterly update roll-outs which would include maintenance releases, so yes, things are about to get pretty interesting.

What’s New?

Coming to what has changed in the final release, there’s good news, not much has. This is however in comparison to the developer beta that we played around with a few months ago. For those upgrading from Android 6.0 to 7.0, there are plenty of changes.

There’s multi-windows display, a built-in files manager, you can even block numbers at the system level. Switching between two apps now also gets easier, all you have to do is double tap the recent app (square navigation icon) button.

Android Nougat: Release date, news and rumors

Update: The Android Nougat release date is happening on August 22, according to the latest reports. It's already out with Developer Preview 5, and we've tested it. Here's a look at the key features in the latest beta version.



Android Nougat is Google's latest update of its phone and tablet operating system - an OS that's been so thoroughly refined that the company is now more than halfway through the alphabet with names, at letter 14 of 26.

You can now download Android Nougat Developer Preview, and test its new features that didn't make the cut in last November's Android 6.0 Marshmallow launch, alongside the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X.

Here's how to install it on your compatible device

First, Samsung mistakenly hinted at the Android 7 number. Within its source code for its MultiWindow SDK 1.3.1. It reads "This version has been released with Android N (7.0) compatibility."

Google didn't confirm this at Google IO, it did finally unveil the version number with one simple sentence on its YouTube video: "On June 30th, 2016 we unwrapped our latest treat, Android 7.0 Nougat."


This confirms our suspicions, but it's clear that, more than ever, Google is to be steering more toward the sweeter name, Android Nougat, and away from version numbers.

Intel will start producing ARM chips to boost foundry business

Chip maker Intel and British semiconductor IP company ARM announced an agreement that could help boost the chip giant’s custom foundry business.

The deal, revealed today at the the Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco, will allow Intel Custom Foundry to make ARM processors for third parties.



Intel’s latest earnings announcement made it clear that the company is in the midst of a shift, and it needs to gear up for the Internet of Things. The agreement with ARM Holdings, which was acquired by Japanese tech giant Softbank a month ago, could be the first step in this direction.

“This will allow Intel to compete with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing and Samsung foundries for the business of the likes of Qualcomm and Apple,” Abhinav Davuluri, equity analyst for Morningstar in Chicago, wrote in an online note.

As part of the collaboration, ARM and Intel Custom Foundry will accelerate the development and implementation of ARM SoCs on Intel’s 10-nanometer process. Specifically, Artisan Physical IP, ARM’s intellectual property, will be made available in the process.

“Optimizing this technology for Intel’s 10 nm process means that foundry customers can take advantage of the IP to achieve best-in-class PPA (power, performance, area) for power-efficient, high-performance implementations of their designs for mobile, IoT and other consumer applications,” Zane Ball, co-general manager of Intel Custom Foundry at Intel, wrote in a blog post.


Ball added that Intel has partnered with ANSYS, Cadence, Mentor Graphics and Synopsys previously. Intel also is making chips for customers such as Netronome and LG Electronics, which recently announced a new flagship device that will be the first handset to ship with Android 7.0.

6 surprising things you can do with your smartphone

With more than 2 million apps in the Apple App Store and 2.2 million in Google Play, there are tons of things you can do with your smartphone beyond making calls and texting. Here are some of the most innovative apps that make your smartphone do things you've never imagined.



1. Measure your heart rate
Instant Heart Rate is an app that uses your phone's camera and flash to take a reading of your pulse. Just place your index finger on the camera and the app will automatically measure your heart rate by detecting color changes.

The app also collects data from each reading to create charts that help you monitor your heart rate over time. Plus, you can add tags and notes such as "Just woke up," "Before bed," "Exercising," and "Resting," to make your tracking more effective.

You don't have to be a fitness enthusiast to benefit from this app. It's also helpful if you have a medical condition such as cardiovascular disease or diabetes and need to monitor your heart rate closely. When I tested the app, it was within a beat or two of manually measuring my heart rate.

A free basic version is available for both Apple and Android users. However, there is also a Pro version (Apple, $2.99/Android, $1.99) that's ad-free and offers unlimited data tracking.

2. Hunt for treasure
One of the most unexpected things your smartphone can do is search for metal. If you own an iPhone, download a free app called Metal Detector. This app taps into your phone's built-in magnetometer, which helps your phone detect the X,Y, Z axes for things like the compass.

Metal Detector won't detect everything that's metal, but don't discredit its ability. Point your phone's camera toward the metal objects and turn up the dial to increase the intensity. You'll be surprised by the things it picks up. The app detects any metal that is magnetic.

If you don't have an iPhone, a similar app (also called Metal Detector) is available for Android devices. These apps share the same name; however, they were created by different developers and have slight differences in the way they operate.

3. Control your vehicle from anywhere
Wouldn't it be great if you could warm up or cool down your car before you even reach the parking lot? That's what Viper SmartStart does. It's like turning your phone into a remote control for your vehicle.

With the full system, you can start your car, unlock your doors, open your trunk, locate where you're parked, and even activate your security system. Premium versions also include features such as text alerts for speeding and when your car has a low battery.

The apps for Apple and Android are free to download and test, but you'll need extra hardware and a monthly service plan to make the system work.

There are four different service plan options, ranging from $70 to $240 per year, depending on the features you select. You will also need a module installed in your car, which costs around $300, plus installation.

4. Measure height and distance
Using your phone's camera and fancy math, the iOS app EasyMeasure estimates the distance or height of an object.

Before you play around with this app, an initial calibration is required. For better results, you'll need to set the lens' height. According to the app's tutorial, the lens' height is 4 inches from your real height.

To use the app, stand up and hold your phone at eye level then aim the little arrow at the base of the object you want to measure. Using the camera's angle and your position, the app estimates the object's distance.

EasyMeasure is available for both Apple and Android users as a free download. There is also an option to upgrade to a premium version (Apple $2.99/Android, $.99) that is ad-free.

5. Level objects
Here's a "handy" use for your smartphone, turn it into a leveler! iHandy Level is a free download for both iOS and Android that uses your smartphone's accelerometer to help you level objects. The app even mimics a real bubble leveler with a wooden overlay.

The leveling action works with all your phone's orientations so it's quite versatile. Use it in portrait mode, landscape mode or go hands-free and lay your phone flat on its back.

iHandy Level can help you hang picture frames, TV mounts, light fixtures and just about anything you want to straighten out.

Other features include a digital readout of the current angle and a Hold button that locks the leveler in place.

6. See in the dark
Thermal vision isn't something we're born with, but now it's possible to use it to see in the dark. All you need is a camera attachment, such as the Seek Thermal.

This high-resolution thermal camera attaches to your smartphone through the lightning port for Apple or micro USB port for Android. There are two different models currently available, the Compact and Compact XR.

Compact models cost around $250 and include a 206 x 156 thermal sensor. This model is also waterproof and can detect temperatures between -40 degrees and 626 degrees Fahrenheit at a range up to 1,000 feet.

For $300, the Compact XR model gets you a larger field of view, as well as a range of up to 1,800 feet. You'll find these products on Seek Thermal's website and on Amazon.

Google is secretly creating a new OS that’s not based on Linux

Here’s a bit of unexpected Friday news: Google is building a completely new operating system. As in, not just an upgrade to Android or Chrome OS, but instead, a new system that’s not derived from the Linux kernel.



It’s called Fuschia. While Google hasn’t officially announced anything about the OS, it released details about the project on GitHub with the cryptic description “Pink + Purple == Fuschia (a new Operating System).”
  
Android Police dove deeper into the documentation and found some interesting tidbits. First off, the OS uses a new Magenta kernel, which is designed to compete with IoT-oriented operating systems like FreeRTOS or ThreadX. The difference here is that Magenta appears designed to scale all the way up to smartphones and desktop computers.

Meanwhile, Dart is the main programming language and Flutter support indicates that the OS will likely use Material Design for its user interface.

That doesn’t necessarily indicate Google has plans for Fuschia beyond IoT devices; with the company creating more IoT hardware like OnHub and Google Home, it might simply want a lighter OS that can work for any future hardware products. Still, the ability to scale up remains exciting, especially as the line between Android and ChromeOS becomes increasingly blurred.

As for why Google has remained so quiet about the OS so far: Brian Swetland – a senior Engineer at Google who has worked on Android and the T-mobile Sidekick’s OS – mentions that the decision was made to build the OS open source from the beginning, implying that some details are yet to be finalized.

Eventually things will be made public, documented and announced, says Christopher Lane, another engineer at Google. Until then, we can only speculate.
